Last month our friends at Google announced the launch of ‘Tell Me Something Good,’ a new experimental feature on Google Assistant-enabled devices that provides a daily dose of good news upon the command ‘Hey Google, Tell Me Something Good.’

We partnered with Google as the feature’s content provider during development and testing. For content, this initiative is working with the Solutions Journalism Network, who maintain a curated database of rigorous reporting on responses to social problems, including stories from GOOD and Upworthy.

Both GOOD and Upworthy have always believed in the power of a story that reminds you of the best of humanity, from a feature on a town that went green all on its own to the story behind the first-ever life insurance coverage for people with HIV.

In a day where the majority of headlines we read make us feel exhausted, overwhelmed or downright depressed, we couldn’t be prouder to take part in the effort to break through the clutter.

Here’s to the Good News.
